Privacy Policy
Short version: TnC Apps does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data through Spades Scorepad. Core scorekeeping runs entirely on your device, with no accounts, analytics, advertising, or trackers.
1. Who we are
This privacy policy applies to the Spades Scorepad applications for Android (package dev.tnc.spades) and iPhone and iPad, published by TnC Apps. For any privacy questions, contact us at tnc.appteam@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
None. TnC Apps does not receive personally identifiable information, device identifiers, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, advertising IDs, game data, crash reports, or analytics from the app. The app does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated telemetry SDKs.
3. Data stored on your device
To provide scorekeeping and remember your choices, the app stores the following data in its private storage on your device:
- Game state (player names, bids, tricks won, scores) while a game is in progress.
- Preferences, including theme, scoring preset, and default player count.
- App guidance state, such as whether you completed the walkthrough.
- Android only: review prompt state, including a local completed-game count and whether the app previously requested a review. The app does not know whether you submitted a review or what rating you gave.
- Android only: optional saved games that you choose to export as JSON files using Android's system file picker. These files live wherever you save them, including a cloud provider if you select one.
Depending on your device settings, private app data may be included in Android's encrypted backup or device-transfer services, or in iCloud Backup on iOS. These backups are controlled by Google, Apple, and your device or account settings.
Uninstalling the app removes its on-device private storage. Data retained in a system backup, and Android JSON files exported to your own folders or cloud drives, are managed separately and may remain under your control.
4. Permissions
The app requests no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, Bluetooth, or local network. On Android, saving or loading a game opens the system file picker; the app receives access only to the file you select for that operation.
5. Network and ads
The app has no developer-operated server and does not directly transmit game data or personal data over the internet. Core scorekeeping works offline. There are no advertisements, analytics, in-app purchases, or remote configuration.
If you choose an external link, email, sharing destination, cloud file provider, or app-store review action, Android, iOS, Google Play, the App Store, or the app or service you select may use a network connection under its own privacy policy.
6. Children's privacy
The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. There are no accounts, social features, or user-generated content shared with others.
7. Third-party services
The app does not include third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising services.
- Android: the Google Play In-App Review API may ask Google Play to display a rating prompt after an eligible completed game. Google Play controls whether the prompt appears. Spades Scorepad does not receive your rating or review text.
- iOS: Apple's StoreKit may ask the App Store to display a rating prompt. Spades Scorepad does not receive your rating or review text.
- Sharing: when you choose to share results, the operating system presents available apps. Any data you send is handled by the destination you select under its own privacy policy.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes on Google Play or the Apple App Store, as applicable.
